Trip Details

Every guided winter trip includes a clean pair of Simms waders and wading boots, a cooler full of bottled water, fly rods and reels, and an experienced, friendly fly fishing guide. All winter float and ice fishing trips include a lunch that consists of a sandwhich, chips, and desert item with the option to add soup. Winter half-day wade trips last up to four hours, and winter float trips and ice fishing trips provide you with at least six hours of fishing time on the water.

Guided trips do not include a Colorado fishing license, or guide gratuity. All trip participants over the age of 16 are required to carry a valid Colorado fishing license with them while fishing. We strongly encourage all of our trip participants to purchase their license online prior to the trip in order to save time and get on the water sooner.

In order to make your winter fly fishing trip more enjoyable, please come prepared with sunglasses, long underwear or baselayer insulation, a fleece jacket and pants, gloves, a warm hat and a winter coat. Dress in layers just like you would for skiing or other outdoor winter activities.

At Vail Valley Anglers, safety is our top priority, which is why drugs are not permitted on any of our fly fishing trips. We reserve the right to cancel any trip that becomes unsafe or unfishable. We will reschedule your class for a future date and try to make accommodations to your schedule, taking into consideration that the summer season is our busiest time of the year.
