The “Trout Spey Trip” is focused on catching trout using the fly fishing technique of spey casting or two hand casting. The casting techniques involve a variety of different methodical casts that load your rod and shoot your line far across the river. The water current “swings” your fly across the water as you hold on for an aggressive trout to eat your fly. The method is highly effective and very entertaining. Our guides will outfit you with a specific “Trout Spey Rod.”

We guide these trips on the Eagle, Colorado, and Roaring Fork Rivers depending on the fishing conditions. We offer both half-day trips and full-day trips. Our guides may decide to take you in the boat to get to various different areas where you can get out of the boat and wade in the water and swing your flies. The guides may also take you to some remote hike-in areas on stretches of the Colorado or Eagle River. We guide these trips year round but spring and fall seem to be the most productive times.

Whether you are looking for another new and exciting way to fly fish or want to prepare for an upcoming steelhead or salmon trip, our professional guides are extremely knowledgeable of the technique.
