Backcountry Hike & Fish Trip
“Hike and Fish” trips entail scenic hikes to some of Colorado’s finest, secret backcountry fishing hotspots. Along the way, clients will enjoy wildflowers in peak season and a full-spread lunch worthy of a king. It is important that clients be able to walk anywhere from three to six miles to be able to fully enjoy this one-of-a-kind experience. We primarily offer the Hike & Fish adventure on the Piney River in the Eagle’s Nest Wilderness. We have several different access points to the more remote sections of the river that are fished by less than 15 to 20 people in an entire year. We are limited by user days for this special trip and offer it only during the months of July and August every year.To ensure the best possible experience for all participants, we limit this trip to a maximum of four people
What's Included
Provided:
- Rod & Reel*
We'll set you up with a high-quality rod and reel that match your experience level and the trip at hand. - Flies
Guides will choose the most current patterns daily from our shop's selection of top quality flies. - Food
Lunch is included in the cost of our full-day wade trips. Build your own streamside sandwiches from a heaping platter of fixin’s, then cap lunch off with a freshly baked cookie or brownie. Or, if you’d rather keep fishing, we can provide pre-made sandwiches so you can eat on the fly.
(We gladly accommodate any special dietary requests – just let us know in advance!) - Terminal Tackle*
Included in the price of every trip is all terminal tackle including tippet, split shot, leaders, and strike indicators. - Wading Gear*
Our premium waders and wading boots from Simms will keep you dry (and help you stay upright) throughout the trip.
*You're always welcome to bring your own gear if you'd prefer, however we can't knock anything off the price for doing so.
