Half Day Fly Fishing School
If you are interested in learning about fly fishing but have a limited amount of time to work with, we have the perfect solution to get you started. Start the morning with a couple of hours of instruction in our classroom and then head out to the Eagle River – just steps away from our shop in Edwards, Colorado. We provide all of the necessary equipment for this class, meaning complete beginners are always welcome! If you have your own gear, bring it and let our professional guides help you dial it in.
Whats Included:
- Rod & Reel*
We'll set you up with a high-quality rod and reel that match your experience level and the trip at hand. - Flies
Guides will choose the most current patterns daily from our shop's selection of top quality flies. - Wading Gear
Our premium waders and wading boots from Simms will keep you dry (and help you stay upright) throughout the fishing portion of the class. - Terminal Tackle*
Included in the price of every trip is all terminal tackle including tippet, split shot, leaders, and strike indicators. - Course Materials*
We’ll make sure you have the course materials you need to follow along during class and study in your free time afterwards. - Knot Tying Kit*
You’ll hone your knot tying skills with a customized kit selected by your professional fly fishing instructor..
*You're always welcome to bring your own gear if you'd prefer, however we can't knock anything off the price for doing so.
Not Provided:
- Colorado Fishing License Fishing licenses are required for all trip participants over the age of 16. If you want to save time you can purchase them online before you arrive, or you can wait and do it at the shop.
- Food Since this is only a four-hour class, we don’t have time to break for lunch. We do have a Grocery Store right next door where you can stock up on snacks before you head to the river! (A cooler stocked with beverages is provided).
- Instructor Gratuity Never expected, always appreciated. Our instructors work hard to provide you with the best possible experience and appreciate the generosity.
Don't stress if you're missing something from this list – our retail store is fully stocked with everything you could need for your fly fishing trip. If you can arrive a few minutes early, our retail staff will get you set up with any fishing attire you need.
